New arrests on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department:

  • May 4 – Zachary David Daugherty, 29, Linton, Ind., was arrested on two Writs of Attachment. Bond information not available. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Jordan Gooding was the arresting officer.
  • Linda Jo Secrest, 41, Linton, Ind. was arrested on a warrant issued on a petition to revoke a suspended sentence in a case involving battery with bodily injury. She was being held without bond. Linton Police Officer Jace Herndon was the arresting officer.
  • May 5 – Ryan James Smith, 41, Jasonville, Ind., was arrested on preliminary charges of felony strangulation and misdemeanor battery resulting in bodily injury. His bond was set at $5,000 surety with ten percent allowed. Jasonville Police Officer Dustin Cain was the arresting officer.
  • May 6 – Jeffery R. Adams, 46, Bloomfield, Ind., was arrested on a preliminary charge of misdemeanor disorderly conduct. His bond was set at $500 surety with ten percent allowed. He was released later the same day after posting bond. Worthington Deputy Marshal Russell Walls was the arresting officer.
  • May 6 – Devan Lee Wharton, 21, Bloomfield, Ind., was arrested on preliminary charges of misdemeanor intimidation and pointing a firearm at another person. His bond was set at $2,000. Bloomfield Deputy Marshal Wayman J.R. Blazier was the arresting officer.
  • May 6 – David Dale Foster, 56, Bloomfield, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued on preliminary charges of felony theft and misdemeanor criminal mischief. His bond was set at $4,500 surety with ten percent allowed. Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Elmore was the arresting officer.
  • May 6 – Jessica Marie Messmer, 27, Jasonville, Ind., was arrested on a warrant issued out of Pike County in a case involving felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of marijuana and driving while suspended – second offense. She was being held without bond. Indiana State Police Trooper Richard Klun was the arresting officer.

Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Individuals are booked into jail on warrants issued by courts or on “preliminary charges” based on recommendations of investigating or arresting officers. Charges may change when a new case is filed in court by the prosecutor who reviews the case and makes the charging decision.
