Worthington Town Council to close meeting as safety precaution

The next monthly meeting of the Worthington Town Council will be closed to the public. This action is being taken as a safety precaution due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Council President Tom Franklin announced the regular monthly meeting will still be conducted at the regular time of 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14. Members of the council, the clerk-treasurer, the street department superintendent and the town marshal will attend and they will be adhering to social distancing guidelines. Members of the media will be able to attend but the meeting will be closed to the general public.

Statewide case count announced; No cases confirmed yet in Greene County

When the Indiana Department of Health released new stats Saturday morning, once again there was an uptick in cases of COVID-19 in Indiana, but no confirmed cases in Greene County. The number of confirmed cases in Monroe County doubled since yesterday, from eight to 16. Yesterday during the press briefing with the governor and others, state officials said they were expecting the peak of cases in Indiana likely won’t occur until mid- to late-April. With today’s stats and map graphics, a new graphic, shown in this story, was released showing the number of cases by gender and in various age groups.
