When a woman went to her ex-boyfriend’s house to pick up some of her things yesterday afternoon, he called the sheriff’s department and when a deputy arrived, she told him she needed a ride. But the deputy reported finding meth and a syringe in her things and she ended up getting a ride to jail.

Kaila Danielle Stamper, 31, Bloomfield, was arrested by Deputy Sgt. Jordan Allor of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department yesterday afternoon, Sunday, November 28.

Sgt. Allor was off-duty at 1:30 p.m. yesterday when he got a request to assist GCSD Det. Elmore with a person who had a knife and was threatening suicide. When Sgt. Allor arrived at a residence on East Hollars Road, Bloomfield, he saw Kaila Stamper standing in the yard yelling at the front door. She allegedly told Sgt. Allor that she was just trying to get her things from her ex-boyfriend who had burned most of her things.

When Sgt. Allor asked her if she was hurt or wanted to hurt herself, she looked confused and said no. When he explained dispatch had received a report about someone with a knife threatening suicide, she allegedly said it wasn’t true and that her ex-boyfriend was just trying to get her to leave. She asked if she could get a ride to a location in Bloomfield.

When the ex-boyfriend opened the door to the residence, he said all her things were outside. He also said they broke up a while ago and Stamper had not been living there. He allegedly said Stamper came there and kicked in the back door but he didn’t want to press charges.

Sgt. Allor agreed to give Stamper a ride and she gathered up her things. Sgt. Allor told her to put all her items on the ground so he could search them before putting them in his patrol vehicle. She put all her items out on the ground, then picked up a small black bag and held it tightly to her chest, saying he didn’t need to search the small bag.

Stamper then became emotional and was upset. She said she had been doing good and just made a bad choice but she had a syringe she had used to ingest suboxone.

After Det. Elmore arrived on the scene, Sgt. Allor reported he found two syringes in the small bag. One of them field-tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.

Stamper ended up getting a ride to the Greene County Jail where she was booked in at 2:28 p.m. She was being held without bond pending court appearance.

A criminal case was filed against her earlier today.
