Woman wanted on warrant found hiding under a bed

When deputies arrived to arrest a rural Bloomfield woman on a warrant, they found her hiding under a bed and they arrested another person in the residence on drug charges.

Elizabeth Ann Fields

Brian Richard Bixler, Jr., 26, Bloomfield, and Elizabeth Ann Fields, 39, Bloomfield, were both arrested on Thursday, November 4. Bixler was taken into custody by Deputy Sgt. Jordan Allor, Fields by Deputy Logan Milligan, both of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.

Elizabeth Fields has a couple of criminal cases pending against her. One involves methamphetamine possession, the other a shoplifting theft. She was out on bond in the meth case, but on Monday, November 1, the prosecution filed a petition to revoke her bond and the court found reason to believe she had violated a condition of her bond release. A warrant was issued for her arrest.

With the warrant in hand, Deputy Sgt. Allor and Deputy Milligan arrived at a residence on North Fire Station Road, Bloomfield, to arrest Fields. Deputy Milligan knocked on the door and the woman who answered said Fields was there then changed and said Fields was not hone. Sgt. Allor told the woman Fields needed to come to the door or they were going to go in and get her. The woman told them to “Come on in.”

Once inside, when the two saw a man, later identified as Bixler, walking in a small hallway, they entered the hallway but it was too small to pass by him so he was told to walk back to the bathroom so the deputies could get by. He complied and Sgt. Allor followed him and asked him if he had any weapons on him. He said maybe a knife and during a pat-down, Sgt. Allor discovered a smoking device in one pants pocket and a container that contained a plastic corner baggie with a white crystal substance in another pocket. The substance later field tested positive as methamphetamine. In another pocket, he found a metal cylinder containing a white crystal substance.

When Sgt. Allor went into the bathroom with Bixler, Deputy Milligan continued through the hall to a bedroom and while Sgt. Allor was dealing with Bixler, he could hear Deputy Milligan telling Fields to come out from underneath the bed.

Both Bixler and Fields were transported to the Greene County Jail. Bixler was being held without bond pending court appearance and Fields was being held without bond.

Bixler is facing charges of:

  • Possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, and

  • Possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
