As of 9 a.m. today, the victim of a fatal crash on I-69 in Greene County at 12:03 p.m. yesterday has not been identified. Indiana State Police and the Greene County Coroner’s Officer are in the process of attempting to make a positive identification of the driver.

The crash occurred on I-69 northeast of the 92.5 mile marker in eastern Greene County at 12:03 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11.

Sgt. Curt Durnil, the public information officer at the Indiana State Police Bloomington Post, said a Dodge pickup truck traveled across a paved median crossing the southbound lanes of the interstate and continued off the north side of the road.

The truck then traveled down an embankment at an angle and went through a ditch then continued northeast at an angle. It then traveled up a steep embankment before rolling down the embankment and coming to rest in the ditch.

The female driver was partially ejected from the truck and died at the scene from injuries.

Durnil reported the license plate on the truck did not match the vehicle identification number of the truck.

No additional information has been released as of early Thursday, December 12, and the crash remains under investigation.
