Case dismissed against a Worthington man; Warrant issued for another Worthington man

Back in May, a Worthington man was charged with a serious crime, child molesting, a Level 1 felony. As the case made its way toward a trial, it came to light that another Worthington man, who was a witness to the alleged crime, had lied. The felony case has since been dismissed. Yesterday a warrant for the arrest of the witness was issued.

Case dismissed: Two Worthington men accused of burglary are off the hook

Two Worthington men, accused of breaking into a home in July and drinking the alleged victim’s beer, were arrested then charged with felonies. But as the cases inched closer to conclusions, the alleged victim waffled on the story and balked at pressing charges. This week, Greene County Prosecutor Jarrod Holtsclaw made the decision to completely dismiss both cases.

WPD had two suspects in custody by midnight after Worthington burglary was reported at 8 p.m. Friday

Two Worthington men, suspected of burglarizing a home in Worthington Friday evening, were in jail around midnight. Dispatched around 8 p.m., a WPD officer said a witness identified one suspect and the officer identified the other by a witness description of the suspect’s haircut.
