Phillip C. Lash, 32, Switz City, was arrested by Deputy Harvey Holt of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department earlier today, Friday, October 23.

Sometime on Friday morning, a suspicious vehicle on school property was discovered by White River Valley School Resource Officer Ron Sparks.

During an investigation by Deputy Holt, Phillip Lash was found to be in possession of a handgun on school property, without a handgun license.

Lash was taken into custody and transported to the Greene County Jail.

During the booking process, jail staff allegedly found marijuana in Lash’s pocket.

Bond was set at $11,500 surety with ten percent cash allowed. As of early Friday afternoon, he had not yet posted bond and was still in jail.

Lash is being held on preliminary charges involving a Level 5 felony charge for possession of a knife, a Class A misdemeanor possession of a handgun without a license, and a Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

The exact charges Lash will be facing may change and will be determined after the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office makes charging decisions.
