Solsberry woman arrested on methamphetamine, marijuana charges
/A Solsberry woman was arrested Oct. 1 after Indiana State Police allegedly found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in her bedroom during a probation search.
Lena Faye Godsey, 56, was arrested at 3:32 p.m. on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, and misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Indiana State Police assisted Greene County Probation Officer Patrick Hillenburg with a probation search at a residence on Edwards Road in Solsberry at approximately 1:38 p.m.
The probation search involved another resident of the property. Godsey reportedly lived in the home and had an upstairs bedroom.
Police said Godsey and the homeowner were advised of their rights and consented to a search of the bedroom.
Inside a brown backpack near the bed, officers allegedly found a glass smoking device containing crystal residue that later field-tested positive for methamphetamine. An identification card belonging to Godsey also was reportedly inside the backpack.
Officers allegedly found three additional glass smoking devices in and around the bedroom. Police said the devices contained burned plant material that field-tested positive for marijuana. Multiple plastic bags containing crystal residue also were reportedly found throughout the room.
Following a Miranda warning, Godsey allegedly told police that everything found in the bedroom belonged to her.
Godsey was taken to the Greene County Jail and initially held without bond. She was scheduled to appear in court for an initial hearing Oct. 5; however, court records had not been updated with a bond amount as of publication.
