A Solsberry man wanted on a Writ of Attachment led two deputies on a foot chase on Monday evening but they closed the gap, tackled him from behind and booked him into the Greene County Jail.
Leslie Corbin
Leslie Edgar Corbin, Jr., 27, Solsberry, was arrested by Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Alan Jackson after Jackson tackled Corbin.
Around 6:45 p.m. Monday, February 25, Deputy Jackson, the investigating officer, spoke to GCSD Det. Shawn Cullison who said he’d just talked to Leslie Corbin walking westbound on East Sparks Road.
Deputy Jackson said he thought Corbin was wanted on a Writ of Attachment, they checked, the Writ was verified, and the two deputies headed to Sparks Road where they came upon Corbin on foot.
Deputy Jackson reported that when he stepped out of his patrol vehicle, Corbin ran across the roadway and started sprinting southbound from East Sparks Road through a field. The chase was on as the two deputies took off after him.
Deputy Jackson said they yelled “stop” and “police.” Corbin didn’t stop but Deputy Jackson closed the distance between them and then tackled Corbin from behind. After Corbin’s hands were secured behind his back. Det. Cullison said to Corbin, “You ran over a Writ?” Corbin replied with a profanity.
Corbin was transported and booked in to the Greene County Jail around 7:45 p.m. Monday, February 25. He’s now facing a new criminal charge of resisting law enforcement – knowingly or intentionally forcibly resisting, a Class A misdemeanor. For that, his bond is set at $1,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed.
But he is also being held on that Writ – with bond set at $2,000 cash only.
