Bloomfield man arrested following pursuit and OWI investigation
/A report of a suspected intoxicated driver leaving a local bar on Nov. 15 led to the arrest of a 46-year-old Bloomfield man.
Bloomfield Police Department Deputy Marshal Jordan T. Brant responded to the area and made contact with the driver, identified as Brian Joseph Devault. When approached, Devault fled the scene, initiating a brief vehicle pursuit before abandoning his vehicle and fleeing on foot.
A physical altercation ensued behind a nearby residence, during which a Taser was deployed. With assistance from Greene County Sheriff’s Department Deputies Andrew Weeks and Tanner Carter, Devault was taken into custody without further incident.
Devault was first transported to Greene County General Hospital for medical evaluation and later booked into the Greene County Jail on the following preliminary charges:
Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, Class C Misdemeanor
Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated–Endangerment, Class A Misdemeanor
Resisting Law Enforcement, Class A Misdemeanor
Resisting Law Enforcement, Level 6 Felony
Additional assisting officers included Bloomfield Police Department Lieutenant Ryan Montgomery, Greene County Sheriff’s Department Sergeant Jordan Allor, and Deputies Devan Goad and Andrew Gelanis.
