Reckless driver with flat tire and expired plates arrested in Jasonville

A report of a reckless driver driving on the wrong side of the road, released by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Department, resulted in the arrest of a 63-year-old Jasonville woman.
Jasonville Police Department Officer Skylar Scott observed a vehicle, matching the description given by Sullivan County, near the intersection of State Road 159 and State Road 48 on March 10. When passing the vehicle, the driver failed to dim its lights. Officer Scott initiated a traffic stop and noticed the vehicle had a flat rear tire and expired license plates.
When approaching the vehicle, Officer Scott wrote in the probable cause affidavit that he could smell an odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the breath of the driver, who was identified as Kathleen Joy Allen, 63, of Jasonville.
Allen failed a standardized field sobriety test and refused a chemical test. She was transported to the Jasonville Police Department where Officer Scott applied for and was granted a search warrant by Greene Superior Court Judge Dena Martin for the chemical test. Allen was transported to Greene County General Hospital for the test, results pending.

She was booked into Greene County Jail by in the early morning hours of March 11 by Officer Scott. Her bond was set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. She was released after posting $400 bond.
