LPD investigating shooting incident involving juveniles
/The Linton Police Department has been investigating a shooting incident involving two juveniles that occurred last week in Linton. One of the juveniles was injured and transported to a hospital but few details have been released.
Last Tuesday, September 15, around 8-8:30 p.m., officers from the Linton Police Department responded to a shooting at a location on SE 6th Street in Linton.
LPD Chief Paul Clark said that upon their arrival on the scene, officers found a juvenile had been shot with a handgun by another juvenile.
The juvenile who was injured was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. The juvenile’s condition at that time, the extent of the injuries and current condition was not released.
Chief Clark said officers have been investigating to determine whether the shooting was an act of violence or whether it occurred due to recklessness or negligence.
The investigation has been ongoing and since juveniles are involved, details about the incident or possible charges either are not a matter of public record or have not been released.
