Brandy Jean Wilkes, 40, Linton, appeared for an initial hearing in Greene Superior Court this week, on Wednesday, April 22, and was charged with:

  • Possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony,

  • Maintaining a common nuisance, a Level 6 felony,

  • Possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor, and

  • Possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.

Wilkes was arrested on Thursday night, April 16, by Deputy Jordan Allor of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.

Around 6 p.m. that night, Deputy Allor was attempting to do a welfare check on a neighbor of Wilkes when Wilkes came out of her own apartment and told the deputy the person he was looking for was not home.

According to Deputy Allor, Wilkes showed signs of impairment and he noticed the odor of marijuana. When GCSD Deputy Zach Goad arrived to assist, he also mentioned the odor of marijuana coming from the apartment of Wilkes. When asked about marijuana, Wilkes allegedly said she just had some roaches here and there and it was all hers.

Deputy Allor was asking for permission to search when another individual who lives with Wilkes arrived home and said he didn’t want anyone going through his things. He allegedly told Wilkes she should just give the deputies what she had.

Deputy Allor was granted a search warrant and when executed, deputies reported finding a long list of items, including small baggies with a white crystal substance, controlled substances, green plant material, and various items of paraphernalia.

Deputy Allor said Wilkes admitted that all of the items belonged to her. Wilkes was taken into custody and booked into the Greene County Jail around 10:23 p.m.

During her hearing, a public defender was appointed to represent her and her bond was set at $25,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. Wilkes also has another unrelated case pending against her. As of late Friday afternoon, she was still in custody in the Greene County Jail.
