Linton woman arrested after physical altercation with a juvenile
/A Linton woman involved in a disagreement with a juvenile family member called 911 and said the juvenile had broken her hand. But four witnesses said otherwise and she ended up in jail.
Naydale Lynn Carbone, 34, Linton, was arrested by Deputy Alan Jackson of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Sunday evening, October 11.
Deputy Jackson was dispatched to an apartment on I Street NE in Linton after Naydale Carbone called the sheriff’s department and reported a juvenile family member had broken her hand in a battery incident. The Greene County Ambulance Service was dispatched along with the deputy.
Carbone, whose hands were red and swollen, said she had been in a conversation with the juvenile and when the juvenile left, she went outside her apartment to confront the juvenile, but she said he pushed her and she pushed him back. She claimed when he started hitting her, she grabbed a white plastic chair but he grabbed it from her and hit her with it.
The juvenile and other witnesses told a different story.
The juvenile said Carbone came up behind him and started pushing and hitting him. He said he told her to stop but she didn’t and he pushed her back. He said she threw a bowl of sand at him then grabbed the chair and was swinging it at him so he grabbed the chair and pushed her back with it.
One witness who came outside during the altercation said the juvenile was minding his own business when Carbone started the confrontation.
Three other juvenile witnesses, who were outside sitting in a vehicle waiting on the juvenile, told the same story as the juvenile victim.
Carbone refused medical treatment from ambulance personnel.
Carbone was taken into custody and booked into jail at 6:04 p.m. Her bond was set at $5,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. As of late Wednesday, she had not posted bond and was still in jail.
During an initial hearing earlier today in Greene Superior Court, Carbone was charged with domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor.
