Linton library to close Oct. 20-26 for HVAC upgrade
/The Linton Public Library is scheduled to close Oct. 20-26 as crews install a new heating and cooling system.
Library officials announced the upcoming project, noting that the installation will require the facility to close for several days. The closure dates depend on the weather and could change.
During the first few days of the project, residents are asked to avoid the library parking lot because cranes and other large equipment will be on-site.
All regular library programs will be canceled during the closure.
Library officials said returned materials will be backdated to prevent overdue fines from accumulating while the building is closed.
Patrons are encouraged to stock up on books and other library materials by Monday, Oct. 19, ahead of the scheduled closure.
Although the building will be closed, the library's electronic book collection will remain available for patrons to access throughout the project.
The library is scheduled to reopen Tuesday, Oct. 27, weather and project progress permitting.
