Jasonville to honor veterans, active-duty military with Main Street banners

The City of Jasonville is inviting residents to honor veterans and active-duty military personnel through a banner program that will recognize their service along Main Street.

The city is accepting applications for banners featuring photographs of military service members, giving families an opportunity to publicly recognize loved ones who have served or are currently serving in the U.S. armed forces.

Banners cost $100 each, and applications must be submitted to the Jasonville Clerk's Office by Monday, Oct. 26.

Those wishing to participate must complete an application and provide a photograph of the honoree in uniform, along with payment.

The application requests the service member's name, branch of military service and optional rank abbreviation. Applicants may designate whether the banner honors an active-duty service member, veteran or deceased military member.

Applicants must also provide their contact information and relationship to the person being honored.

City officials emphasize the importance of ensuring all information is accurate and spelled correctly, as changes cannot be made once the banners are printed.

The application also includes a photo authorization agreement that must be signed by the person submitting the photograph.

Completed applications, photographs and payments must be turned in to the Jasonville Clerk's Office by Oct. 26.

"Let's fill our Main Street with our beloved military," the city stated in its announcement.

The program offers families an opportunity to celebrate the service and sacrifices of military members while creating a visible tribute throughout the community.
