Jasonville man accused of criminal trespassing

A Jasonville man was warned in October that if he returned to a residence in Jasonville again, he would be arrested for criminal trespassing. In late November, he returned and was arrested. He’s due in court on Thursday.

Mark Andrew Irons

Mark Andrew Irons, 29, was arrested by Officer Skylar Scott of the Jasonville Police Department on Friday, November 26. The jail log listed Irons with a home address in Elnora but court records show him with a home address in Jasonville.

Officer Scott was dispatched to a residence on South Virgil Street in Jasonville about an unruly person. Dispatch advised him a woman said Irons was at her residence and was harassing her. Officer Scott said Irons had been trespassed from the residence in October when JPD Chief Ryan Van Horn told Irons if he returned to the property, he would be arrested for criminal trespassing.

When Officer Scott arrived at the residence, he could hear yelling and when he entered, Irons walked into a hallway and looked startled to see the officer. Irons was asked to step outside. He complied and sat down in a chair on the porch.  As the officer started to talk to him, Irons got up and started walking away and was told to come back two times. When he continued walking, Officer Scott drew his Taser and told Irons to get down on the ground. Irons complied.

Irons was taken into custody and transported to the Greene County Jail where he was booked in at 5:30 p.m. with bond set at $1,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. Irons posted $100 and was released the next day.

Irons is scheduled to be in Greene Superior Court on December 9 for his initial hearing. He is facing a charge of criminal trespassing, a Class A misdemeanor.
