ISP, GCDTF investigation nets four arrests plus seizure of cash, drugs, weapons
/SULLIVAN COUNTY – The Greene County Drug Task Force, with assistance from the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office, was part of a team of investigators and officers from several law enforcement agencies that’s been working on a drug investigation initiated several months ago. On Friday evening, July 20, four men were arrested in Sullivan County.
Personnel from the Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section, the Indiana State Police SWAT team, area ISP troopers and the Greene County Drug Task Force served two search warrants in Sullivan County Friday night, one at 224 Depot Street in Sullivan and one at 1008 Miller Street in Dugger.
The execution of the warrants resulted in four arrests on multiple charges:
- Shad Collins, 43, Sullivan, was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a syringe and possession of a synthetic or look-alike drug. Collins was also wanted on a warrant issued out of Sullivan County in a case involving dealing methamphetamine.
- William Brett Chastain, 46, Sullivan, was arrested on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement, visiting a common nuisance and for a contempt of court violation.
- Kevin Eberhardt, 43, Dugger, was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine. Eberhardt was also wanted on a warrant issued out of Sullivan County for failure to appear in court in a case involving dealing methamphetamine.
- Bradley Cooksey, 45, Dugger, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
During the execution of the warrants, officers also reported seizing over $10,000 cash and a money counter, scales, small amounts of liquid morphine and methamphetamine, assorted paraphernalia, multiple weapons and a ballistic vest.
The ongoing investigation was a joint effort by the ISP Drug Enforcement Section, area ISP troopers and the Greene County Drug Task Force with assistance from both the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office and the Sullivan County Prosecutor’s Office.
