Filing period for school board candidates opens May 19
/Individuals interested in running for local school board seats may begin filing for candidacy starting Tuesday, May 19.
The deadline to file is noon on June 18, according to the Greene County Voter Registration Office.
School board members serve four-year terms. Candidates must file both a CAN-12 and CAN-34 form with the voter registration office, located in Room 225 on the second floor of the Greene County Courthouse.
As part of the filing process, candidates are required to collect at least 10 signatures from registered voters within their respective school board district. Those signatures must be submitted on the CAN-34 form.
Forms are available online through the Indiana Secretary of State’s website or may be picked up in person at the voter registration office.
