A female driver and a male passenger were both arrested last Friday after a deputy stopped their car near Timber Trace on State Road 45 for fictitious plates.

The driver, Hannah Grace Hutchison, 28, of Bloomfield, was taken into custody and booked in on a preliminary charge of misdemeanor driving while suspended.

The passenger, Brandon C. Jamison, 30, of Solsberry, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor. But he also had a warrant out for his arrest.

The traffic stop was initiated by Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy David Elmore who was leaving the Pinewood gas station and convenience store parking lot when he saw a blue Chrysler 300 with military plates pass by, driven by Hutchison.

Elmore asked Greene County Dispatch to run a check on the plate and dispatch reported back that the plate was registered to a 2006 white Cadillac owned by Jamison.

The car was pulled over. Elmore recognized Jamison and knew about the warrant for his arrest.

GCSD Detective Shawn Cullison arrived to assist and ran a records check on Hutchison – her license was suspended and she had a prior conviction for driving with a suspended license.

With both in custody, a vehicle inventory was conducted and Elmore reported they found paraphernalia with white powder substances, both on the passenger’s front door and in the center console. The items field tested positive for methamphetamine.

When the two were asked who owned the items, Jamison said they were not his and Hutchison said they were not hers but belonged to Jamison.

They were both transported to the Greene County Jail.

Hutchison’s bond was set at $1,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. She was released after posting $100 cash. The charge against her is pending. She also has another case pending against her where she was charged with misdemeanor assisting a criminal.

Jamison was held without bond.

A criminal case was filed against him on Monday on the new charges but he also has a previous case pending. In a case involving his January conviction for felony strangulation, a warrant was issued for his arrest in early June, on a petition to revoke his suspended sentence due to an alleged violation of his probation.
