David William Bailey III, 46, of Linton, was arrested by Deputy Camron Frye of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department last Friday night, June 19.

Deputy Frye was dispatched to the scene of a crash that occurred around 7:48 p.m. last Friday on County Road 1450 West.

When the deputy arrived on the scene, he found a tan 2013 Honda Accord with a disabled license plate wrecked up on a pile of gravel at a closed bridge. A Sullivan man had reported the crash after finding the wrecked vehicle with the driver vomiting.

Bailey was identified as the driver who was asleep when the deputy got there. Deputy Frye reported Bailey had vomited all over his shirt, was disoriented, could not locate his identification and showed numerous signs of intoxication.

Bailey failed one portion of a standard field sobriety test and a portable breath test showed he had a BAC of .143. He was transported to Greene County General Hospital for a blood draw – results pending.

Bailey was booked in to the Greene County Jail around 10 p.m. His bond was set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. He has since posted bond, been released and will be scheduled to appear in court for an initial hearing.

Bailey is facing preliminary charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor.
