A Bloomfield man is facing a Level 5 felony charge of operating a motor vehicle after forfeiture of license for life in Greene County. He’s also facing the same charge in Daviess County.

Kyle Gene Feutz, 34, Bloomfield, was arrested by Deputy Zachary Goad of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department early last Sunday, June 21. Feutz was booked in to the Greene County Jail around 2 a.m.

Around 1 a.m. last Sunday, Deputy Alan Jackson stopped a green 2004 Chevrolet Silverado on South Mount Nebo Road north of West Simpson Chapel Road for an equipment violation.

Deputy Jackson reported that when he made the stop, Feutz was inside the driver’s door with a woman in the passenger seat. The woman said she was driving. The deputy said he knew Feutz was driving. The woman later explained she said that because she didn’t want Feutz to go to jail and he’d only been driving for five or 10 minutes.

Feutz also said he wasn’t driving then allegedly said he was just trying to help his girlfriend because she was struggling to the stick shift. He later said she was driving earlier, and he wasn’t trying to drive from Point A to Point B.

Deputy Goad, the investigating officer, said a records check showed Feutz’s license was suspended for life because he is a habitual traffic violator. He also has another case currently pending in Daviess County for the same thing - operating a motor vehicle after forfeiture of license for life, a Level 5 felony. Deputy Goad also noted the license plate on the Silverado was expired and was false and fictious.

Feutz’s bond was set at $10,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. As of Tuesday night, he had not yet posted bond and was still in jail. The date for his initial hearing has not been set.
