Don't forget -- clocks fall back tonight
/Before heading to bed tonight, remember to turn your clocks back one hour.
Daylight saving time officially ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, when clocks will move back to 1 a.m., marking the return to Eastern Standard Time.
The good news? We get an extra hour of sleep! 😴
The not-so-good news? It will start getting dark earlier in the evening.
Most smartphones, computers and other electronic devices will automatically adjust to the time change, but don't forget to reset clocks in your vehicles, on appliances and anywhere else they won't change automatically.
The time change is also a good reminder to test your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, replace batteries when needed and check expiration dates. Alarms with sealed, long-life batteries should be replaced according to manufacturer recommendations.
While gaining an hour of sleep sounds wonderful, the time change can temporarily disrupt sleep schedules. Maintaining a consistent bedtime and getting some natural daylight in the morning can help your body adjust.
So, enjoy that extra hour tonight!
And here's the real question: Are you excited about an extra hour of sleep, or are you already dreading it getting dark so early?
