Commissioners issue Level I Travel Advisory ahead of winter weather

The Greene County Commissioners have issued a Level I (Yellow) Travel Advisory in advance of forecasted winter weather.

The advisory is in effect from 12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, through 12 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27.

According to county officials, the advisory was issued due to a Winter Weather Watch from the National Weather Service, which is predicting several inches of snow across Greene County beginning Saturday and continuing into Monday.

A Level I advisory indicates that conditions may be hazardous, particularly for routine travel. While roads remain open, residents are urged to use caution when driving and to avoid unnecessary travel when possible.

County officials noted that hazardous conditions could lead to disruptions in normal travel and activities during the advisory period. Motorists are encouraged to monitor local forecasts, allow extra travel time, and remain alert for changing road conditions.
