Stephen W. Farris, 77, of Switz City, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of June 28, 2026, at Glenburn Home in Linton, with his wife and son by his side. Born on September 12, 1948, to Elmo and Juanita (Hueston) Farris, Stephen grew up rooted in family, faith, and the simple joys that would shape his life.

A man of Pentecostal faith, Stephen found happiness in the moments that mattered most - casting a line on a quiet day of fishing, spending time with his loved ones, and embracing his roles as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He had a steady presence and a caring heart, always valuing time spent with family above all else.

Stephen is lovingly remembered by his wife of 37 years, Patricia "Patty" Farris, who shared a lifetime of memories by his side; his son, Tim Farris, and daughter-in-law, Chelsea; and his cherished grandchildren, Ella and Reid, who brought him endless pride and joy. He is also survived by his brother, Tony Farris (Ruby), and his sister, Orga Auberry (Troy), along with extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jeff Farris.

A funeral service to celebrate Stephen's life will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton, of Walton Funeral Service, at 3:00 PM on Friday, July 3, 2026, with his nephew Shawn Farris and Brother Carl Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Worthington Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 1:30 PM until the time of service.
