Ruth Darling (Barnard) Cox, 103, of Linton, IN, passed away peacefully, on Friday, December 27, 2019, at Glenburn Home. She was born in Snowy Mountain, MT, on November 25, 1916, to Henry K. and Bertha E. (Wilkie) Barnard.  On December 24, 1936, she married Frank Cox.

Ruth and her husband, Frank, owned and operated Frank & Ruth’s Market.  She was a member of the Linton First Baptist Church.  Ruth was a sweet lady and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.  She spent her leisure time working crossword puzzles and playing cards and enjoyed crocheting and cooking for the family.

Family members left to cherish Ruth’s memory include: two sons, Frank (Bette Jeanne) Cox and Charlie (Judy) Cox, both of Linton; grandchildren: Kim (John) Holcomb, Jeff (Sandy) Cox, Melinda (Leo) Mortimer, Mark McIntyre, Melanie (Jeremy) Adams, Rick (Magda) Cox, Jon (Angie) Cox, Cheri (Randy) Stickels, Bryan (Krista) Cox, Michael Cox, Pam Aynes, Laura (Chris) Blanton, Mitzi Johnson, and Stark Wilz; twenty-five great grandchildren and seven great great-grandchildren.

Family members preceding Ruth in death include: her husband, Frank; a daughter, Sharon R. Titus; a son John H. Cox; grandsons, Jarrell McIntyre, Jr. and Frankie Lee Cox, Jr.; sisters, Julia and Peggy; and brothers, Bill, Hank, Bob and Earl.

A funeral service honoring Ruth’s life is scheduled for 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at Meng Family Funeral Home’s Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton, with Pastor Steve Blaydes officiating.  Ruth will be laid to rest in the Linton Fairview Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon prior to the service, on Dec. 31st.
