Ronnie Ray Ballew

Ronnie Ray Ballew, age 80, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, at Ketcham Memorial in Odon, Indiana.

Ronnie was born on February 25, 1945 in Fork Ridge, Tennessee to Jim and Mildred Ballew. He was married to the love of his life, Johnny Katheryn Ballew, for 41 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his devoted wife, Katheryn, and his brother, Clell Ballew, one brother-in-law, Buford Goins, and one nephew, Marshall Goins.

Ronnie leaves behind three daughters who will forever cherish his memory: Shannon Roach, Deanna Padgett (Jr.) and Susan Reynolds (Jerry). He was a proud grandfather to Kylie, Makayla, Jaeden, Madi, Jasmine, Sierra, Noah (Kendra), Caleb, Rebecca, Abby, and Lilly. He was a beloved great-grandfather to Evelyn, Junie, Ruby, Walker, Ryker, Harlan, Haizlee, and Hendrix. He is also survived by many siblings: Patricia Goins (Buford), Debra Barker (Tom), Chuck Ballew (Elaine), Jerald Ballew (Melody), Jaime Ballew (Tami), and one sister-in-law, Anita Ballew (Clell). He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

A true son of the mountains, he grew up with a love for the outdoors that never left him. Ronnie‘s happiest moments were spent in the mountains of Tennessee, whether hunting, fishing, camping, or simply breathing in the fresh mountain air. He carried with him a deeper respect for the land and passed on his love of nature to his family. Those who knew him will remember the stories of his childhood adventures growing up in the mountains and the many tall tales of his outdoor adventures. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 15, 2025 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield, with Chris Gehring officiating.

Public visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ketcham Nursing Center in Odon.
