Robert N. Apple

Robert N. Apple, 90, of Vincennes, Indiana, passed from this life on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Select Specialty Hospital. He was born in Sandborn, Indiana, on October 16, 1933, to Ralph B. and Thelma Pauline (McKean) Apple.  On February 21, 1964, Robert married Thelma Roberta ‘Bobbi’ (Belka). To this marriage of over 40 years, Robert and Bobbi were blessed with two children.   

Robert joined the US Air Force and first became a pilot at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix, AZ. He later worked in supply chain at Grissom Air Force Base and retired as a Lt. Colonel with 23 years of service.  Then in 1964, he came back to the family farm in Sandborn, where he became a full-time farmer.  Robert was a member of the Salem United Church of Christ, the Elnora Masonic Lodge #616 F & AM, the Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, and the Zorah Shrine of Terre Haute.  

Surviving family members who cherish memories of Robert include his companion, Mary Pahmeier; a son, Neil (Angela) Apple of Pittsburgh, PA; a daughter, Karen Apple (Gloria Gutierrez) of Phoenix, AZ; and two grandchildren, Seth and Ethan Apple.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Bobbi, and his brother, Glen Apple.

Funeral Services will be at the Community Church of Vincennes, 1548 S. Hart Street Road, Vincennes, Indiana.  The service will begin at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024, a Masonic Memorial service with Elnora Masonic Lodge #616 F & AM, followed by funeral services with Pastor Darren Williams officiating. Burial will follow at a later date with American Legion Post #22 conducting Graveside Rites.

A visitation for family and friends will be at the Community Church of Vincennes the evening of Tuesday, June 25th, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. and from 10 am until the our of service Wednesday.
