Rita J. Walters, 72, of Dugger, IN passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Sullivan Co. Community Hospital.

Rita was born in Sullivan, IN May 19, 1951, the daughter of Joy Hardesty and Nancy (House) Hardesty. She married Tom Walters on October 8, 1969.

Survivors include her mother, Nancy Hardesty of Jasonville, IN, a daughter, Tamra Walters and son, Cory (Tommy) Walters both of Dugger, IN, sister, Brenda Swan (Gary) of Terre Haute, IN, four grandchildren, Jorden House (Coltan McManigell) Tommi Holley, and Dash Walters all of Dugger, IN and Kelsea Holley of Terre Haute, IN, two great grandchildren, Wrigley and Berkley McManigell both of Dugger, IN.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joy Hardesty, and Tom Walters.

Rita was a 1969 graduate of Union High School in Dugger, IN. She retired from SCARC Industries in Sullivan, IN. Rita enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and spending time with her family. She lived a very full life and was loved by so many. She will be missed.

A celebration of Life / Memorial will be held at the Dugger Community Building November 26, 2023, at 12:00PM until 4:00PM.
