Rickey "Rick" Taylor

Rickey "Rick" Taylor, 77, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 7:07 P.M. Monday, July 29, 2024 in his home surrounded by loving family.

He was born December 16, 1946 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to Masel Taylor and Nell (Kirchner) Taylor.

Survivors include his wife of 7 years, Fran Taylor of Jasonville, IN, they married on December 20, 2016;  bonus children, Wendy Hill of Linton, IN, Cynde Hutchinson (Carl) of Lehi, Utah, Wayne Hill (Linda) of Rigby, Idaho; bonus grandchildren – 8; bonus great-grandchildren – 9; brother, Ray Taylor (Paula) of Indianapolis, IN; nieces – 4; sister in-law, Rita Taylor of Safford, AZ; so many loving and close friends; special thanks to Danny and Shannon Keller, Christa, David and Nathaniel Beckes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife of 43 years, Judy Taylor; brother, Gene Taylor.

Rick graduated Safford High School of Safford, AZ. Rick was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He retired after 40 years of service at the Terre Haute Federal Penitentiary working as Farm Manager and later as Supervisor over food services. Rick was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Linton, IN. He enjoyed raising and caring for cattle at home. He took pleasure in listening to Fran play the piano at home, enjoying the beautiful music she made.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 8 P.M. Friday, August 2, 2024 at the funeral home and 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Linton, 1000 West Lone Tree Road, Linton, IN. Funeral Services are 11 A.M. Saturday, August 3, 2024 with Bishop Chad Wagner officiating.

Interment will be at Peavey Cemetery in Jasonville, IN with Military Graveside Rites.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Rick to American Lung Association, . Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
