Myrtie M. Johnson
/Myrtie M. Johnson, 101, of Linton, Indiana, peacefully went to Heaven, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton. She was born on January 13, 1917 in Clay City, Indiana to Jacob and Lillie (Miller) Everwine. She married Herbert E. Johnson on September 29, 1934.
Myrtie was a member of the Linton Assembly of God, where she taught Sunday School, played the piano and accordion. She volunteered with the Greene County General Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. Myrtie was a homemaker and she loved taking care of her home and family.
Survivors include: two sons, Paul G. (Loretta) Johnson and Edwin L. Johnson, both of Linton; five grandchildren, Dennis Johnson, Brenda Hall, Eddie Joe Johnson, Sherill Hanson and Jimmy Johnson; several great and great-great-grandchildren.
Myrtie was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Herbert Johnson; daughter-in-law, Joan Johnson; one sister, Floy Snellenberger; three brothers, Troy, Alfred and Clifford Everwine.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Meng Family Funeral Home, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton. Myrtie will be laid to rest in Maple Grove Cemetery in Clay City.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, July 28 and from 12:00 PM until time of service at 2:00 PM on Sunday, at the funeral home.
