Morris E. White, age 96, of Lyons, passed away at 12:45 P.M. on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. He was born at Freeman Greene County Hospital in Linton on May 16, 1922, the son of Joseph & Icie (Jeffers) White.

He was a 1940 graduate of Lyons High School and attended Purdue University for two years. He was a self-employed farmer for many years and remained living on his farm until his final days. He enjoyed working on his tractors and living on the farm.

He is survived by his wife of 76 years, married June 27, 1942, Phyllis E. (Grounds) White, children, Ronald White and Kathy (Douglas) Power; grandchildren, Kerri(Larry)Tennant, Rodney (Kim) White, Kelly (Michael) Payne, Michelle (Billy) Baxley, and Debra (Tom) Duncan, and a brother, Bill J. White of Lyons.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Tony White on Nov. 30, 2017, two sisters, Mollie Patterson and Helena Benham, and a brother, Donald White.

Graveside service will be held at Prairie Chapel Cemetery on Friday, July 6, 2018, at 1:30 pm, Pastor Gerald Devore officiating, with a visitation from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.
