Marilyn Meier

Marilyn Meier, age 81, of Worthington, passed away peacefully at 10:38 am on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Salem, IL on March 26, 1940, the daughter of Carl “Button” & Hazel Mardell (Alderson) Groff.

Marilyn was a 1959 graduate of Graysville High School. She worked at Walmart as a department manager for several years. She liked sewing, crafting, traveling with her children, and shopping. Marilyn had a love for red roses and appreciated fresh flowers on her table. She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, James “Jim” Meier of Worthington; children, Jamie Sue (Kevin) Hause of White Pine, TN, Cynthia Jean (Lee) Buskirk of Worthington and Robert Douglas (Lori) Meier of Johnson City, TN; grandchildren, Jonathon Hause, Jacob (Whitney) Hause, Taylor (Will) Webb, Alexandria Hause, Josh (Stephanie) Buskirk and Casey (Michael) Arthur; 12 great grandchildren.

Marilyn also leaves behind her beloved and devoted beauticians. A standing Thursday appointment was rarely missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lena Poe, Donna Pinkston and Carla Meier as well as her brother, Vernon Heistand.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at Lincoln Christian Church on Saturday, March 26, 2022 with Pastor Cliff Gano and Dr. Rob Meier officiating. Burial will follow at Stanley Cemetery in Worthington.

Visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Friday, March 25, 2022 from 5:00-8:00 pm , and on Saturday at Lincoln Christian Church from 10:00 am until the time of service.

Flowers are welcome, if you choose, memorial contributions may be made to Lincoln Christian Church through the funeral home.
