Betty Torr, age 95, of Sullivan, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022, at Sullivan County Community Hospital. She was born in Spencer, IN on September 8, 1926, the daughter of Roxie & Edna (Franklin) Hedrick.

She was the owner and operator of Betty’s Beauty Nook in Switz City. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.

She is survived by her daughters, Maryln Smith of Thorntown, IN, Linda Burton of Jacksonville, FL and Roxanne (Jay) Ward of Clayton, OH; son, Thomas (Carla) Torr of Princeton, TX; 6 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William H. Torr; daughter, Sue Haskett and sisters, Daphine Headdy, Doris Slavens, Rita Kester and Barbara Page and sons-in-law, Kelly Burton and Walter Smith.

Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 26, 2022, with Pastor Chris Gehring officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.

Visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:00 pm until the time of service.
