Madison Moore

Madison Isabella Moore, age 17, of Linton, went to be with Jesus, peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, July 15, 2019, at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Linton on June 7, 2002, the daughter of Chris Moore & Tera S. (Smith) Orman.

Madi was a senior at Linton-Stockton High School working towards her academic honors diploma while seeking treatment at Riley Hospital.  She was able to maintain good grades, even obtaining a 4.0 GPA for her Junior year. She was a member of the National Honor Society and was a member of Miner Kadets where she served as head captain of varsity dance and co-captain of the rifle squad.  She played high school volleyball and played in the high school band.  Madi was voted Homecoming Princess during the 2018-19 school year.

She was a member of Cornerstone Church in Switz City her entire life, where she was baptized and a part of the prayer blanket ministry and other outreach programs.

During Madi's time at Riley Hospital, she was chosen to announce the NFL Colts Draft pick and was nominated as a Riley Champion.

Madi always dreamed of starting an organization to help kids and families going through treatment.  She wanted to give back in some way to try to ease the pain of others.  She felt led to write a book about her journey and how God had helped her through.  She pictured herself as a nurse practitioner working with children and inspiring others to keep pushing.

Madi has loved the Lord, even as a small child.  She received Jesus as her savior very young, and over the years has grown closer and closer to the Lord.  When her journey fighting AML started, she never wavered in her faith.  She clung to Jesus and rested on the comfort of His word.  Many times during her treatments, she would be the one to encourage us and remind us that she would be ok.  In many ways, she taught us about Faith, instead of us teaching her.  As the battle raged on for Madi, she continued to think of others, even asking about other patients she met while she herself was still battling.  Her beauty and grace can never be matched, her smile never duplicated.  Her contagious laugh and excitement for life will never be forgotten, forever be in our hearts, and always in our minds.  Our sweet warrior, our beautiful princess, our hero.

She is survived by her parents, Tera & Gregg Orman of Vicksburg, her brother, Brady Sargent, step-siblings, Leslie, Scott, and Eric, her maternal grandparents, Terry Smith and Kathy Smith Bayne & Gary, paternal grandparents, Nancy Hudson-Moore and Pat Orman, her aunts, Heather, Missy, and Paula, uncles, Ryan and Mike, cousins, Kennedy, Edie, Marlowe, Alyssa, and several other extended family members and friends.

Funeral service will be held at Linton-Stockton High School Auditeria at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 20, 2019, with her father, Pastor Gregg Orman officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at the High School Auditeria on Friday from 2 - 8 P.M., and Saturday from 10 A.M. until the time of service.

Memorial donations may be given to Cornerstone Prayer Blanket Ministry.  Envelopes will be provided during the visitation.
