Jerry Richard Frye

Jerry Richard Frye, 78, of Bloomfield, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at McCormick’s Creek Nursing and rehabilitation Center in Spencer.

Born September 25, 1947 in Springville, he was the son of William Roy Frye and Mary (King) Frye Cullison.

Jerry was self-employed as an accountant. He served his country in the Vietnam war in the United States Army. Jerry served as a Greene County Councilman for many years and was a Greene County Reserve Sheriff’s Deputy for 25 years. He was a member of the Bloomfield American Legion Post 196, the VFW, and the Masonic Lodge.

Surviving relatives include: his wife, Lois (Norris) Frye who he married July 29, 1988; one daughter, Courtney Bechtel (Aaron); one sister, Linda Gilmore; six grandchildren, Chelsey Bowlen (Travis), Jessica Byers, Kaylea Byers (Trayson), Cody Byers, Abbi Bechtel and Livi Bechtel; his great grandchildren, Nora, Liam, Jude, Ronin and Jeryn; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth (Norris) Berube, His brothers, Jack, Jim and John Frye, one sister, Shirley Saladin and his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.

Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 12:00 p.m. to 1p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Bloomfield American Legion Post 196.
