James R. "Jim" Galloway, 69, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 6:25 P.M. Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton, IN. He was born August 27, 1953 in Terre Haute, IN to Paul Joseph Galloway I and Joan (White) Shonk.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Cheryl Galloway of Jasonville, IN who he married on April 7, 1984; children, Ashley Boram (Jay) of Jasonville, IN, PJ Galloway II (Brittney) of Jasonville, IN;grandchildren, Mahayla, Jordyn, Jaedyn, Aubrie, Brystol, Hudsyn, Gabe Donnar; siblings, Steve Kerr ( Libby) of Prairie Creek, IN, Kim Soncrant of Coatsville, IN, Greg White of Jasonville, IN, Robbie White of Coalmont, IN, Kelly Soncrant of Jasonville, IN; severalnieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2-brother in-laws, Roger Soncrant and Brent Barbee.
Jim graduated from North Vigo High School Class of 1972. He worked as a Union Insullator Local# 18 for 17 years, and was vice-president of Local# 18 for 4 years. He was a member of Silent Men, Brothers of the Woods and a founder of Friends of Shakamak. He was a Volunteer Fire Fighter with the Prairie Creek/Prairieton Fire Department. Jim enjoyed attending sprint car races. He enjoyed going to car shows with his Hot Rod 1956 Chevy Sedan Delivery. Jim liked fishing, hunting and mushroom hunting and bowling. Jim loved his family and spending time with them. His grandkids were a joy to his life
Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 6 P.M. Monday, May 8, 2023 at the Funeral Home. Services are immediately following at 6 P.M. with Pastor Ray Austin officiating.There will be a dinner at the Jasonville American Legion following the service.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Jim to Cox Funeral Home to help with expenses. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

He was born on January 9, 1941 in Brookville, Pennsylvania to Joe L. and Anita June (Heaton) Poe. Larry married the love of his life, Mary Arlene (Schmitt) Poe on April 28, 1961.
Bruce Button, age 70, of Cincinnati, OH and Worthington, passed away at 8:40 am on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at I.U. Hospice House in Bloomington. He was born in Troy, NY on September 28, 1954, the son of Dale & Ann (Colquhoun) Button.
Nellie Yvonne ‘Connie’ Dayhoff, 88, of Linton, Indiana, went to Heaven with her family by her side, on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Glenburn Senior Living in Linton. She was born on September 20, 1936 in Linton to Clifford William and Eva Mae (Blough) Lynch. Connie married the love of her life, John Dayhoff, Jr. on June 2, 1955.
