James E. Howard, Jr., 54, of Sullivan, IN passed away at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025 in Sullivan County Community Hospital in Sullivan, IN.

He was born July 15, 1970 in Terre Haute, IN to James E. Howard Sr. and Carolyn F. (Edmonson) Howard.

Survivors include his parents, James E. and Carolyn F. Howard Jr. of Sullivan, IN.; brothers, Thomas Howard (Jolie) of Sullivan, IN, Todd Howard of Sullivan, IN; maternal grandparents, Carl & Madge Johnson of Hymera, IN; paternal grandparents, Harold & Dorothy Howard of Shelburn, IN; special nephew, Todd Howard Jr., nephews, Andrew Manuel, Landen Howard Manuel and other nieces and nephews; aunts & uncles, Sandie & Mike Pierson of Shelburn, IN. Bill & Peggy Edmonson of Hymera, IN, Sue & Gary Danko of Hymera, IN, Patty McClure of Shelburn, IN, Jerry Edmonson, Attica, IN.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jackie Howard; nephew, Brandon Howard.

James loved playing games with his nephews and collecting cans.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. In keeping with James wishes cremation is scheduled, with burial to take place at a later date at K of P Cemetery in Hymera, IN.
