Jackie Glenn Flater

Jackie Glenn Flater, 79, of Linton, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at his residence. He was born on August 12, 1941 in Linton to Homer Glenn and Helen Lola (Russell) Flater. Jack married his sweetheart, Mary Elaine (Chapman) Flater on December 24, 1961.

Jack was a US Marine Corps. Veteran, serving 1961-1965. He was a LCpl. and earned the good conduct award and marksmanship award. Jack was a member of the Linton First Church of God, AFGE Local Union #1415 at Crane and Linton Saddle Club. He retired in 1996 from Crane Naval Base with 29 years of service.

Family left to cherish the memory of Jack include: his wife, Mary Flater; three daughters, Julia Annette (Basim) Abdalla of Fishers, Cynthia Rena (John) Prange of Port Huron, MI and Machelle Lea Harper of Paris, IL; grandchildren, Abdalla, Ferras (Somayah), Waleed (Zohadya), Ahmad (Hawa), Christina (Katrina), Nathan (Ariel), Jessica (Orry), Andrew and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Azziyah, Bilqees, Safaa, Charly and Remington. Also surviving are his nieces, Kim, Karen, Karisa, Carole, Jean Ann, Diane and Kathy.

Jackie was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Jerry Lee Flater and sisters, Caroline Mae Cass and Lola Irene Halbach.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel with Pastor Kendall Hendrickson officiating. Jack will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton following military graveside rites presented by the American Legion Post #22.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.

In compliance with state regulations, social distancing and face masks are required by all attending. Additional regulations are allowing only fifty (50) individuals in the funeral home at one time.
