Jack was a graduate of Linton High School and served with the Army National Guard. Jack retired as an electrician after a lifetime of work at General Electric. Following his retirement with GE, Jack worked with Lewellyn Technology.

He enjoyed creating experiments such as building a computer in the early 1960's and duplicating Tesla Coils as demonstration and teaching opportunities in public schools. It's unknown if he was a member of any secret societies.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Margaret A. (Vaughn) Jones of Linton, his three sons, Jack (Melinda) Jones, Jr. of Indianapolis, Barry (Cheryl) Jones of Kokomo, and Eric Jones of O'Fallon, IL, two brothers, Jerry Jones of Indianapolis and Jeff (Nancy) Jones of Bangor, Maine, grandchildren, Jack (Sarah) Jones, III, Andrew (Sarah) Jones, Alycia (Michael) Hatfield, Ashlyn Jones, Alex Jones, Delfred Jones, Loren Jones, and Erica Jones, and five great-grandchildren, Kaki, Rachel, Andrew, Jr., JP, and Nakita.
