Harold A. Padgett, age 85, of Lyons, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family, at 8:46 A.M. on Monday, December 10, 2018, at Autumn Trace in Linton. Harold was born in Linton on April 5, 1933 to Lester & Grace (Higar) Padgett.

On December 24, 1952, he married Mabel McDonald. They were married sixty-five years and worked together on their farm near Lyons where they raised four children.

He was a member of Linton First Christian Church for many years. He served in the United States Army from 1953-1955 and retired from General Electric after 33 years in 1988.

He is survived by three daughters, Karen (Doug) Lee, Alisa (Jay) McKee, and Monica (Brian) Sparks, all of Linton; a son, Harold "Alan" (Patricia) Padgett of Lyons; grandchildren, Jason (LeaAnne) Lee of Knoxville, TN, Jarod Lee of Linton, Jordan (Makenzie) Dunn of Linton, Bryant (Sara) Sparks of Greenwood, Benn (Baileigh) Sparks of Linton, Andrew Padgett of Lyons, and Karee Padgett, of Lyons; great-grandchildren, Emma Lee, Kalyn Lee, and Harper Jo Dunn; step-grandchildren, Kyle McKee, Jalyn McKee, Alec McKee, Stephen Sparks, Candi Payne, and Cody Swan; several step-great-grandchildren and special nieces and nephews; brothers, Anco Padgett, Milton Anthony Morgan, Stephen Suthard and Wilber Gene Padgett; sister, Betty Ann (Steve) Dunning; married family from Mabel's side, her sisters, Anna Mae (Conrad) Passen, Maxine (Steve) Morse, Patty (Don) Jenkins, step-sisters, Debra Corbin and Vicki Henson, step-brothers, Terry Pletch and Larry Pletch, and two sisters-in-law, Susan McDonald and Ethel McDonald.

Harold is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mabel Padgett, on May 12, 2018; brothers, Marshall Courtney Padgett and Perry Morgan; sister, Linda Angrignon.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton. Burial will be at Walker Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 4-8pm at the funeral home and Thursday from 9am until the time of service.
