Gloria A. Huey,
/Gloria A. Huey, 94, of Washington, Indiana, formerly of Sandborn, Indiana, went to Heaven peacefully at the Villages of Oak Ridge in Washington, February 12, 2026. She was born on June 3, 1931, in Petersburg, Indiana to Lestle and Ruth (Swain) Atkinson. Gloria married the love of her life, William Ray ‘Bill’ Huey on January 1, 1950.
Gloria was a member of the Sandborn United Methodist Church. She was president of Indiana Extension Homemakers Association 1978-1979 and served as Central Regional Director 1981-1983. Gloria also served on the North Knox School Board 1976-1980 and was a delegate to the National Republican Convention, and an Inspector for the local election board for several years. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and was an avid antique collector. Gloria enjoyed traveling and had been to all 50 states and to 52 countries.
Family left to cherish the memory of Gloria include: one son, Vaughn (Barbara) Huey of Sandborn; grandchildren, Christopher Lee (Leah) Huey and Andrea Nichole (Scott) Holscher and great-grandchild, Primm LeeAnn Huey.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Huey; her parents; her son, Monty Ray Huey and sister, Sue Barton.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Walnut Hill Cemetery, 1108 N. Vincennes Ave., Petersburg, Indiana with Joe Huddleston and Jim Bitner officiating.
