Geneva E. Barnes, age 91, of Linton, went to be with her heavenly father, and was greeted by her husband, Kenneth, her son, Ronnie, and her grandsons, Andy, Eric, and Cory at 7:20 P.M. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Glenburn Home in Linton.  She was born in Rochester on November 6, 1926, the daughter of Ova & Elizabeth (Legg) Hobbs.  

She enjoyed gardening, canning, and loved the outdoors and wildlife.  She taught Sunday School for thirty-five years at Otterbein United Methodist Church.  She was a caregiver to many children in the Linton area. Most of all, she was the matriarch of her family and loved them all. 

She is survived by her daughter, Janice (Roger) Bridges of Linton, three sons, Kenton (Sandra) Barnes, David (Sandra) Barnes, and Rennis Barnes, all of Linton, daughter-in-law, Sue Barnes of Linton, eight grandchildren, Tim (Kim) Barnes, Brandee (Kevin) Brown, Lori (Gary) Scott, Shane Kenneth Barnes, Josh (Briggetta) Barnes, Kylee Barnes, Jason (Tresea) Hasler, Ryan (Brittney) Hasler, Whitney (Alex) Keller, and Rick (Joy) Weaver, great-grandchildren, Megan (Scott) Smithhart, Courtney (Jacob) Landis, Kaleb (Jade) Bridges, Madisyn Bridges, Kelsea (Josh) Ross, Skylar (Beccah) Scott, J.T. Scott, Corianne Barnes, William Barnes, Austin Barnes, Shayna Barnes, Zaden Barnes, Ericka Chestnut, Elenabeth Brown, Elias Barnes, Jade Barnes, Isaac Barnes, Dalton Weaver, Haylee Weaver, Jaycea Keller, Axel Keller, Lucas Brown, Leah Brown, Bailey Hasler, Drew Hasler, & Gray Hasler, and her great-great grandchildren, Carter, Raelynn, Coleson, Bentley, Zander, Katlin, Kayden, and Audrey.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.
