Flora Kay Mizer
/Flora Kay Mizer, age 83, of Worthington, passed away peacefully at 11:15 pm on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Silver Oaks Health Campus in Columbus, Indiana. She was born in Linton, IN on June 7, 1941, the daughter of Alfred B. & Virginia M. (Stahl) Dyer.
She was a graduate of Worthington High School. She was a wonderful homemaker, whose family was always a priority. Flora Kay loved to sew, and made many beautiful dresses for herself, her daughter, and granddaughters. For many years she had a large garden and preserved much of the family's food. Flora Kay's faith and trust in Jesus was utmost in her life. She was active in her church - in her younger years leading worship, teaching Sunday school, organizing events, and lending a hand with whatever was needed. She had a heart for women's ministry, and for a time ran a women's center in Worthington, serving ladies with teaching, counseling and resources. One of her greatest joys was writing a great number of poems and songs reflecting her relationship with Jesus. Her love of children led her to work as a teacher's aide for a few years at Worthington Elementary School.
Flora is survived by her loving husband of almost 65 years, Floyd Robert "Bob" Mizer of Worthington; son, Brian (Kendra) Mizer of Toledo, Ohio; daughter, Dianna (Jon) Wardlow of Columbus, Indiana; granddaughters, Amy Wardlow and Sarah Wardlow as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Vivian Arlene (Paul) Wright and John Albert (Sharon) Dyer.
A private graveside service will be observed by the immediate family at Worthington Cemetery.
A public memorial service will be Sunday, November 10, 2024 at Worthington Assembly of God Church. Memorial visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m.; service begins at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Davy Dyer officiating.
The family expresses deepest thanks to the staff at Silver Oaks Health Campus for their excellent, compassionate care.
