Eva M. Birdsall, 77, of Linton, Indiana, passed from this life, on Friday, October 25, 2024 at IU Hospice House in Bloomington. She was born on December 8, 1946 in Harvey, Illinois to Anthony ‘Tony’ and Bertha Helen (Reed) Martino. Eva married the love of her life, William Peck Birdsall, on May 11, 1968.

Eva was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Linton and the American Karate Association. She worked many years as a nurses’ aide. Eva loved to quilt in her spare time.

Family left to cherish the memory of Eva include: two daughters, Judith V. (Fritz) Huber of Sullivan and Holly M. Cox of Linton; four grandchildren, John D. (Caryssa) McKinnon, Lyndsie N. (Jonas) Fendley, Casey M. Lifford and Mikayla D. Lifford, all of Linton; five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Mae Fendley, Kai William Fendley, Shaylinn McKinnon, Ariel McKinnon and Gavin Keller; one sister, Charlotte Horbach of Mantino, IL; three brothers, William Freeman Martino of Las Vegas, NV, Dan Martino of Vancouver, WA and Norris Claude Fields of Charleston, IL. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Eva was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, William Birdsall; four brothers, David Lee Martino, Robert Louis Martino, Jim Davis and Charles ‘Jr’ Stettnisch and two sisters, Suzanne Reading and Marianne Prokop.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Meng Family Funeral Homes, Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Bishop Chad Wagner officiating. Eva will be laid to rest in Worthington Cemetery in Worthington, Indiana.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the William T. Murphy Community Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
