Ellis W. "Pinky" Thacker, age 81, of Spencer, passed away at 6:20 A.M. on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at the IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington. He was born in Spencer in the home that remains his residence today on August 24, 1936, the son of Fred & Bertha Thacker. He was raised by his father.

He held many jobs throughout his life and helped many people throughout the Spencer area with their appliances. He was known as dad and papa to many. He enjoyed playing the guitar, hunting, fishing, and making gadgets.

He is survived by his son, Charles (Doris Winkler) Thacker of Bloomfield, two daughters, Teresa Owen of Spencer and Lori (Buddy Cunningham) Polley of Spencer, three step-children, Dale Robertson of Spencer, Darla Kline of Linton, and Darren Robertson of Whitehall, a sister, Joan Walden of Spencer, grandchildren, Angela Wiley of Mitchell, Misty Thacker, Erica Robertson, Calvin Levi Robertson, Ashley (Brian) Pursell, Amber (Jacob Maners) Polley, and Allisa (Chip May) Polley, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy (Edwards) Thacker, his grandson, Charles Alan Thacker, one brother, Charles Alan Thacker, and two sisters, Loleta Bixler and Fredrika Crowe.

Visitation will be held at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home on Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 1:00 P.M. until the time of memorial service at 3:00 P.M. with minister Josh Cunningham officiating.
