Doris A. Colvin, 82, of Linton, Indiana, went peacefully to be with Jesus, on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton.
She was born on April 29, 1941 in Indianapolis to George and Caroline Jean (Smith) Lamb.
Doris was a member of the Linton First Christian Church. She worked as a Nurses’ Aide and in the Deli Department at Wal-Mart before retiring in 2001. Doris enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting and watching her soaps. She adored ‘Elvis’ and loved her family, they were her lifeline.
Family left to cherish the memories of Doris include: son, Bobby Sizemore of Bloomfield; daughters, Martha (Mike) Solliday of Switz City; sons-in-law, Bud Sachtjen and Jeff Hogue; twelve grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; step-daughters, Michelle Colvin, Kathy Colvin; step-son, David Colvin and brother, Richard (Valerie) Lamb of Indianapolis.
Doris was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, David B. Colvin; daughters, Anna Jean Sachtjen and Geraldine Hogue; son, John Edward Sizemore; step-son, Timmy Colvin; two sisters, Carol Sizemore and Georgia Henry.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Warren Shake officiating. Doris will be laid to rest in Tulip Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 Noon on Saturday at the funeral home.
