David F. Kanen
/David F. Kanen, age 47, of Linton, passed away at 3:30 A.M. on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. He was born in Bishop, California on January 5, 1972, the son of Warren Taylor & Camille Ann (Maurer) Kanen.
David was a 1990 graduate of Rio Lindo Adventist Academy. He served in the United States Army following high school. He married Bobbie Jo Fulford on Feb. 18, 1994.
He worked his "dream job" for the Indiana Railroad Company for ten years. He then worked as a gasification tech at Duke Energy at Edwardsport from July 2013 until the present.
He was a member of B.P.O. Linton Elks #866, I.B.E.W. Local #1393, and Linton V.F.W. Post #7118.
David loved to play golf, play Call of Duty video games, the Raiders, eating at the Sportman's Pub, lending a hand to whoever needed it, and being with his friends who are family.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Jo Kanen of Linton, his mother and step-father, Camille & Gary Shryock of Linton, two sons, Taylor (Kara) and Dane (Selena) Kanen, both of Linton, his grandson, Warren David Kanen, siblings, Dane Looman, Kisten Dill, Don Kanen, Denise Abston, and Marlene Savage, four step-sisters, Druscilla Covington, Jennifer Mayfield, Janice Mayfield, and Deborah King, several nieces and nephews, his father and mother-in-law, Jim & Connie Fulford of Linton, his brothers-in-law, Jim Bob (Jaime) & Allen (Melissa) Fulford, and his dearest friends that were like brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his father and his step-mother, Doris Kanen.
Visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Friday, December 20, 2019, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. A private family burial will be held in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
