Daniel “Danny” M. Geatches

Daniel “Danny” M. Geatches, age 78, of Linton, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Linton on September 25, 1943, the son of Daniel Francis Rice & Gerogianna (Geatches) Edmonson, being raised by his mother and Carlos Edmonson.

Danny was an Air Force veteran, serving our country during the Vietnam War. He worked as an aircraft mechanic at the Indiana Airguard at Hulman Field in Terre Haute. He was a self-employed contractor, owning and operating Geatches Construction, Building and Remodeling.

He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Baptist Church of Vicksburg and the American Legion Post #22 of Linton, He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Danny was always friendly and loved visiting with others. He enjoyed sharing his love for the Lord.

Danny is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Donna (Bedwell) Geatches of Linton; children, Danny (Teresa) Geatches of Linton, Mike Geatches of Arkansas, Dustin (Brandi) Geatches of Jasonville, Eric (Ellen) Geatches of Linton, and Rhonda (Kenny) Himebrook of Hymera; 15 grandchildren, Thomas, Joe, Kayla, Erica, Krista, Latasha, Austin, Ashley, Grace, Connor, Jude, Quenton, Callista, Jade, and Lucas; 14 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Rick Edmonson, Steven Edmonson, Edwin Edmonson, Marilyn Rogers, Teresa (Raymond) Graham, Rebecca “Becky” (Larry) Williams, Danetta (Ron) Kelly, and Cindy (Dick) Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; toddler grandsons, D.J. Geatches and Christopher Scott Geatches; and siblings, Carlos (Judy) Edmonson and Diana Rice.

Funeral service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 11, 2022, with Pastor Doug Cassel officiating. Burial will follow at German Memory Hill Cemetery in Linton with military rites by the American Legion Post #22 of Linton..

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 P.M., and Thursday from 10 A.M. until the time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church, through the funeral home.
