Dallas E. Frederick

Dallas E. Frederick, 90, of Bloomfield, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Glenburn Home in Linton.

Born March 15, 1936 in Maples, Indiana he was the son of William and Hazel (Grotrian) Frederick.

Dallas proudly served in the United States Army from 1959 – 1961.

Dallas moved to Bloomfield from Fort Wayne and opened Western Auto in 1969. In 1979 he opened the Whistle Stop restaurant in Bloomfield. He retired in 2001 as a salesman for Wickes Lumber. Dallas was a member of the Bloomfield Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and watching basketball.

Surviving relatives include: two sons, Scott (Betsy) Hoza-Frederick, Brian (Roni) Frederick; his grandchildren, Avery (Dillon) Resler, Drake Frederick, Emma and John Hoza-Frederick and Skylar Wappes; great grandchildren, Barrett and Stevie Resler.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon K. Frederick on May 1, 2021, a son, Todd A. Frederick on January 17, 2024, his parents and his five siblings, Darwin, Ralph, Howard, Don Frederick and Audrey Grabner.

Private graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at Grandview cemetery in Bloomfield.

The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to the Bloomfield Methodist Church.
